Vitiligo is a disorder in which white patches of skin appear on different parts of the body. This happens because the cells that make pigment (color) in the skin are destroyed. These cells are called melanocytes. My mother (Necandra Thompson) was diagnosed with Vitiligo when she was 6 years old and she recieved the PUVA treatments from Howard University Hospital Dermatology under the care of Dr. Rebate Halder. Bitter Sweet Lemonade will donate a portion of it’s earnings to help with the research study for those person’s with Vitiligo in Washington DC, Ghana and Nigeria.
